Overview

The 9-Day Northern Circuit Route is one of the longest, quietest, and most scenic routes on Mount Kilimanjaro. Its gradual ascent, extended acclimatisation period, and remote northern traverse make it an excellent choice for climbers seeking a less-crowded and rewarding mountain experience.

The journey begins on the western side of Kilimanjaro, following the Lemosho trail through lush rainforest before crossing the spectacular Shira Plateau. The route then continues through Lava Tower, Moir Valley, Buffalo Camp, and Third Cave before reaching School Hut for the final summit attempt.

After reaching Uhuru Peak at 5,895 metres, the highest point in Africa, climbers descend along the Mweka Route.

Throughout the expedition, KILIMANJARO MAGIC ADVENTURE provides experienced mountain guides, professional cooks, dedicated porters, quality camping equipment, nutritious meals, and daily health monitoring.

A separate dining tent with tables and chairs is provided for meals, health checks, and daily briefings.

Our mountain cook prepares fresh and nutritious meals throughout the climb.

Typical meals may include:

Porridge, eggs, toast, fruit, and hot drinks for breakfast
Soup, sandwiches, pasta, rice, potatoes, and vegetables for lunch
Meat, fish, rice, pasta, potatoes, vegetables, and soup for dinner

Special dietary requirements can be accommodated when communicated in advance.

Water collected from mountain streams is boiled or treated before drinking. Climbers should carry reusable bottles or a hydration bladder with a total capacity of at least three litres.
