Day 01 :

Moshi / Arusha – Momella Gate – Miriakamba Hut

After breakfast, depart from Moshi or Arusha and drive to Momella Gate in Arusha National Park.

After completing park registration, meet your armed ranger before beginning your trek through open grasslands and dense montane forest.

Unlike most mountain treks, your adventure starts with opportunities to observe wildlife including:

Continue ascending through beautiful forest before arriving at Miriakamba Hut, where you’ll enjoy dinner and your first overnight stay on the mountain.

Today’s trek leaves the rainforest behind and enters the heath and moorland zone.

As you gain altitude, enjoy increasingly spectacular views across Arusha National Park and toward Mount Kilimanjaro on clear days.

After arriving at Saddle Hut, enjoy lunch and rest before an optional afternoon acclimatisation hike to Little Meru (3,820 m).

Return to Saddle Hut for dinner and an early night’s sleep in preparation for summit day.

Day 03 :

Saddle Hut – Socialist Peak – Miriakamba Hut

Your summit attempt begins around midnight.

Climb steadily beneath a sky full of stars toward Rhino Point before continuing along the dramatic crater rim.

Reach Socialist Peak (4,566 m) in time to witness an unforgettable sunrise.

Keep an eye out for wildlife once again as you make your way back to Momella Gate. After receiving your summit certificate, meet your driver and transfer back to Moshi or Arusha, bringing your Mount Meru adventure to a memorable close.
