Your adventure begins with an early morning transfer from Moshi or Arusha to Marangu Gate, where registration with Kilimanjaro National Park is completed.

Meet your experienced mountain crew before beginning your trek through lush tropical rainforest.

This beautiful forest is home to towering trees, giant ferns, colourful birds and black-and-white colobus monkeys.

The trail gradually climbs to Mandara Hut, your first overnight stop on the mountain.

If weather permits, take a short afternoon walk to Maundi Crater, where you’ll enjoy breathtaking views across northern Tanzania and Kenya.

This gentle excursion helps your body adjust naturally to the higher altitude while allowing you to enjoy incredible views of Mawenzi Peak and the surrounding alpine landscape.

After returning to Horombo Hut, spend the afternoon resting, drinking plenty of water, and preparing mentally for the next stage of the climb.

Today’s route crosses the vast Saddle Plateau, a dramatic alpine desert stretching between Mawenzi and Kibo Peaks.

Vegetation gradually disappears as the landscape becomes more rugged and volcanic.

Your guide will maintain a slow pace to conserve energy while continuously monitoring your condition.

Arrive at Kibo Hut during the afternoon for an early dinner followed by a comprehensive summit briefing.

Get some rest, as your summit attempt begins shortly after midnight.
